Families in Kiambu, Kenya

In the rapid growing suburb of Kiambu there is a gigantic gap between the rich and the poor. Kiambu was recently named as the best place to invest in land in all of Kenya. It’s proximity to the city of Nairobi has created an economic boom and an ever growing middle class. All of this rapid growth has created a disparity between its urban developments and the previous rural farming community. As always there are those who fall through the cracks and need help to survive and better themselves.

Worship City, our new church plant in Kiambu, was started in 2019 with the hope to minister to all people in areas where a church presence is scarce…so the demands are high and increasing for any new churches. COVID 19 restrictions has not made this easy! These needs are not only spiritual but also humanitarian in nature. The needs include caring for the disadvantaged, the elderly, the blind, single parents with no income, orphans and the uneducated. Some, but not all, are totally dependent on family and others for their sustenance. And still others need a “leg up” to work to better their family situation. This can mean childcare, so a single parent can work or improve their education, others may need “the seed” to start their first garden. Most need access to safe drinking water and health education, while a few may need funds to better their education.

All of this is within our Heavn Sent mandate to provide longer term solutions to their impoverished condition. Education and support programs are in their infancy but vital to any long-term success.
